National Geographic, also known by many as Nat Geo or Nat Geo TV, is a pay television network known for airing a full range of non-fiction programmes covering topics such as science, history, nature and culture. Some other shows will cover reality and pseudo-scientific topics.

There are around 74% of households with TV in the US who can access National Geographic, and this channel has been around since 2001. The venture which resulted in this channel was one between Fox Cable Networks and National Geographic Television & Film. The partnership made sense because the latter had experience with programming and the former led the way with knowledge on marketing, advertising and distribution.
