Overview
Sundance TV, which some may know as Sundance Channel, has been around since 1996. Owned by AMC Networks, its name came about due to Robert Redford’s character played in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. The channel is not officially a part of the Sundance Institute or the Sundance Film Festival, but it does exist as an extension of both. It is known for airing indie films, world cinema, documentaries and short films – and lately, it also offers original content too. 2015 data reveals that around 52% of all TV subscribers in the US have access to this channel.
