Viceland is a TV channel which acts as an extension of the online website. Owned by Vice Media, the channel is majority owned by A&E Networks. The main focus on this channel is documentaries and reality series with a lifestyle slant. Typically, stories will be aimed at the millennial demographic, and the brand is multinational. It has been around since 2016, and came into existence two years after A&E Networks took on a 10% stake in Vice Media for $250 million. 

The tone of Viceland’s content is ‘character-driven documentaries’, and creative director Spike Jonze has spoken of his vision for the channel as being a lineup that communicates a strong point of view and reason for existence – as opposed to simply a collection of shows.
