Fans will remember the classic series Dexter, and to their surprise the show has recently been confirmed for a reboot. What’s more, we can expect to see Michael C Hall taking on his role as Dexter Morgan once again.
Showtime has revealed there will be 10 new instalments a whopping seven years after it went off air, which has inspired a wave of nostalgia among fans who were bitterly disappointed to see it leave their screens for the final time.
Gary Levine, president of Showtime Entertainment, said: ‘Dexter is such a special series, both for its millions of fans and for Showtime, as this breakthrough show helped put our network on the map many years ago.’
It is currently expected that filming will begin in early 2021, and fans are hoping that it will be airing later in the year. There is no trailer just yet, but watch this space for the latest updates.
As for the cast and plot, we know that Jennifer is not likely to be involved in the new episodes due to her life presumably ending when she flatlined after surviving on a ventilator following a gunshot wound.
However, anything is possible, so to begin speculating for yourself the previous seasons of Dexter can be streamed with Showtime via Amazon Prime Video – plus there is a seven day free trial.
