Star Wars fans have been wanting to see more of Darth Maul since his return in Solo: A Star Wars Story, and a Disney Plus series is being prepared which will reportedly perform a deep dive into the characters’ back story.
Although Lucasfilm hasn’t released any information on the project, We Got This Covered have reached out to sources who have revealed that the series is in early development. It will bulk out Darth Maul’s backstory using flashbacks, and build up to the end result of him becoming a villain.
Furthermore, some of the series will take place after the events of Solo, and fans will be able to see how his life has been progressing since his brief return there. It’s also expected that Qi’ra will make a return.
There is currently no further information to share, and the sources should not be taken as gospel fact – particularly as plans can change. However, it goes without saying that looking into Darth Maul more would be a guaranteed hit with fans, and a smart move for Disney Plus.
Currently the most popular series on the streamer is a Star Wars themed one – The Mandalorian has beaten out global favourites such as Stranger Things and 13 Reasons Why to become the most popular streaming show of 2019. Fans have been particularly taken with the character of Baby Yoda, who we now know has a name.
