It would be safe to say that The Mandalorian was the main focus of every Disney Plus subscriber’s life when the first season began streaming on a weekly basis, fresh off the launch of the new streaming service.
Resulting in weekly gossip whenever a new episode could be streamed, and memes based on the loveable character Baby Yoda, the Star Wars themed TV series has become a cultural phenomenon in a short space of time.
Now we finally have a date for the second season of the show, as Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed further information in the company’s quarterly earnings call.
We can now eagerly anticipate the debut of The Mandalorian season two in October 2020. An exact date has not been specified yet, but a month provides more clarity for viewers wanting their next fix.
What’s more, Iger has confirmed there will be further seasons of Mandalorian following the second one. Fans who love particular characters from the show may be further treated by individual spin-offs, as Julia Alexander from The Verge reported on Twitter that Iger said there’s a ‘possibility of taking [them] in their own directions.’
The Mandalorian isn’t the only Star Wars title linked with Disney Plus, as there’s also a show about Rogue One’s Cassian Andor – starring Diego Luna – in the works, as well as a fresh show about Obi-Wan Kenobi with Ewan McGregor.
