NBCUniversal’s upcoming streaming platform Peacock is creating a musical drama called Olympic Boulevard. The project is being written by Paula Yoo, produced by Neil Meron and choreographed by Kyle Hanagami.

The plot revolves around a former K-Pop star who starts teaching at one of the first K-Pop training schools in America and finds a chance to come back from his disgrace.

Choreographer Hanagami has worked with major names such as BTS, Britney Spears, NSync and Nick Jonas. He currently has the most viewed choreography video on YouTube and boasts over 4 million subscribers on the platform.

Yoo and Meron both serve as executive producers alongside Meron’s producing partner Mark Nicholson. Hanagami is also in a producer role. Meanwhile, Universal TV is the studio as Meron currently has an overall deal with them.

The series aims to reflect how K-Pop is beginning to break out of its popularity in Asia and go global, especially in the US market with artists such as BTS.
