The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has resumed production, which means we’ve snagged several sneak peeks from the set recently.

Footage of what looks like an action scene was posted to Twitter, and pictures taken of the set revealed the return of Batroc the Leaper.

Now, we’ve got another glimpse at the new show – courtesy of the lead actors themselves.

Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie both shared an image of Mackie in costume as the Falcon. The picture seems to have been snapped by Stan, and Mackie shared the black and white photo to his Twitter.

Stan also shared the image to his Instagram from a different angle after someone apparently captured the moment he took the picture – so we’ve also got a bit of a look at the Winter Soldier’s new gear too.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is expected to see Mackie’s Falcon take on the Captain America mantle after Steve Rogers handed him the shield at the end of Avengers: Endgame.

The new Falcon suit looks like an evolution of previous Falcon suits in the MCU, instead of a traditional Captain America suit. We already know from the show’s poster that the suit will be red and white – unless this is another version.

We also know that US Agent will feature in the show, seemingly as the new Captain America.

Whether the Falcon will end up symbolically wearing the red, white and blue costume as he does in the comics is unknown – as is the extent of US Agent’s role in the show.

Plus, we still don’t really know if the Falcon will even take up the mantle or not – though from the clips showing him using the iconic shield, it’s a safe bet that he’ll be embodying the Captain America legacy in spirit if not in name.

At the moment, there’s no confirmed release date for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier – but for now you can stream the MCU with a Disney Plus subscription.
