Those who have been keeping themselves up to date on Netflix releases will know that American historical legal drama movie Trial of the Chicago 7 is coming out today, October 16 2020.

The movie first came out in some theaters on September 25 but is now available for streaming. The title is set in 1968, and shows Abbie Hoffman, Bobby Seale, Jerry Rubin, John Froines, Rennie Davis, Lee Weiner and David Dellinger preparing for protest at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

However, they are all arrested eight months later and charged with attempting to incite a riot. Various obstacles are in place from the start, such as Judge Julius Hoffman showing a large amount of prejudice for the prosecution.

The star-studded cast includes big names such as Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jeremy Strong, Sacha Baron Cohen, Alex Sharp, Daniel Flaherty, Mark Rylance, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Noah Robbins, Michael Keaton, Eddie Redmayne, Frank Langella and John Caroll Lynch.
