Vanessa Hudgens is returning to the world of musicals following her stint in High School Musical a decade ago.
Deadline has reported that she will be starring in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Netflix adaptation of Tick, Tick…Boom!.
Her co-stars will be Alexandra Shipp and Robin de Jesus, all set to appear in the updated version of the Jonathan Larson musical set in the 1990s.
The protagonist is played by Andrew Garfield, and he is a theater composer about to hit 30 who is facing pressure from his girlfriend. His best friend has given up his dreams for a high-paying creative job.
The cast will deliver high quality vocals, as Hudgens played Maureen in a live TV broadcast of Rent, Shipp played Aaliyah in a biopic and de Jesus has received multiple Tony nominations.
