Those who have read the comic book Kingsman will be familiar with the premise for The King’s Man. For those not in the know, it’s a period action spy film which focuses on looming disaster as the worst villains in history join forces to plan a war designed to destroy millions of lives.

However, one man and his protégé join up in a race against time to put a stop to the evil. Here’s an overview of the release date, cast, spoilers and trailers for this upcoming title.

When will The King’s Man come out?

There has been a lot of confusion about the release date for The King’s Man – and for good reason. The original release date was November 15, 2019, but this was adjusted to February 14, 2020. However, don’t get excited just yet – it didn’t come out then. It got pushed to September 18, then pushed again to February 26, 2021 after COVID restrictions came into place.

More delays occurred after the MCU Phase Four films were impacted. The movie got moved up to February 12, then moved back to March 12. Most recently, it has been moved to a release date of August 20, 2021.

Will there be The King’s Man 2?

This movie is part of the Kingsman film franchise, focusing on the fictional secret service organisation. The films which came out before are Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014) and Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017). After The King’s Man, there will be two more movies – yet to have their release dates announced. There is Kingsman: The Blue Blood, which is part of the main franchise, and spin-off Statesman.

The King’s Man spoilers and fan theories

There are a number of spoilers circulating on forums such as Reddit. One theory is that Conrad, son of the Duke of Oxford, is killed off. There is a subreddit dedicated to discussing the upcoming movie, and although some have claimed to see the movie ahead of time due to being part of an exclusive screening, they have signed an NDA – so no spoilers can be revealed.

Is there a trailer for The King’s Man?

An official teaser trailer was released by 20th Century Fox in July 2019, back when the release date was February 14, 2020. Another trailer was released by the production studio in June 2020, when the release date was September 18.
