New mobile-focused streaming service Quibi has recently launched, with the 90 day free trial and ‘quick bites’ of content proving popular.

While the platform had originally hoped to be purely for mobile devices, people are wanting to stream from larger devices – especially during the coronavirus pandemic, when commuting to work is becoming a distant memory.

As a result, the service is fast-tracking its plans to provide the ability to cast shows to TVs. According to CNBC via Engadget, co-creator Meg Whitman has revealed that this wasn’t the original plan with the launch but this has now changed.

Quibi is set up to be a service catering to people on the go, offering content which doesn’t last more than 5 or 10 minutes.

However, soon it looks like those quick bites will be able to get cast to smart TV devices – so watch this space for the latest updates.
