A new Star Trek TV show hits our screens today (August 6th).
Star Trek: Lower Decks is an animated spinoff that playfully (and lovingly) pokes fun at its source material. Created by Rick and Morty writer/producer Mike McMahan, the series follows a group of junior officers on the spacecraft USS Cerritos – and the first episode sees a zombie virus hit the ship.
So far, the series is receiving generally positive reviews, with critics praising its sense of humor.
The series will be 10 episodes, each half an hour long. A new episode will be available every Thursday, and the first episode is streaming now.
Star Trek: Lower Decks is a CBS All Access exclusive. The good news is, you can stream it totally free with Amazon Prime Video today. Check out an Amazon Prime Video CBS All Access 30 day free trial to stream three Star Trek shows free now – Lower Decks, Picard and Discovery are all available on the streamer.
