Today, Disney Plus have announced that season 2 of The Mandalorian is arriving this October 30th.
This is great news for fans of the Star Wars spinoff, especially after the coronavirus pandemic caused industry wide shutdowns and disruption – luckily, The Mandalorian finished filming before the shutdowns, and postproduction work was able to be completed remotely.
Who is in season 2?
Season 2 will see Pedro Pascal return as the Mandalorian himself, with Giancarlo Esposito also reprising his role as Moff Gideon. We’ll also see Gina Carano as Cara Dune and Carl Weathers as Greef Karga.
Rosario Dawson will bring Ahsoka Tano to life in live-action for the first time – and, reportedly, Temuera Morrison will portray Boba Fett. We also know that Michael Biehn has joined the cast, as has Timothy Olyphant (potentially as Cobb Vanth). Katee Sackhoff will play Bo-Katan Kryze.
Is there a trailer?
Unfortunately not at the moment, though after this announcement there is hopefully one on the way.
New logo
The new logo for The Mandalorian, pictured above, sees the Mandalorian walking side by side with The Child (aka Baby Yoda). The landscape in the background is unfamiliar, meaning we might be seeing a new planet.
Top quotes
Season 1 of The Mandalorian brought us plenty of new quotes to join the ranks of iconic Star Wars sayings, and here are some of our favorites:
- ‘This is the way.’
- ‘I have spoken.’
- ‘I like those odds.’
- ‘Weapons are a part of my religion.’
- ‘I can bring you in warm, or I can bring you in cold.’
The only way to watch season 2 of The Mandalorian is with a Disney Plus subscription. Along with the Star Wars saga, you’ll also be able to enjoy the Marvel Cinematic Universe, classic movies like Toy Story, and recent releases like Frozen 2.
Disney Plus is also the only place Mulan will stream, premiering September 4th.
