Disney Plus’s smash hit success The Mandalorian is returning for season 2 this year.
After season 1 saw the internet fall in love with Baby Yoda, as well as plenty of now iconic quotes and memes, season 2 will see more of Pedro Pascal’s titular bounty hunter on his adventures across the galaxy.
We can expect to see Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) on the hunt for The Child – along with Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) appearing for the first time in live-action. We could also be treated to more of Boba Fett, potentially played by Jango Fett actor Temuera Morrison.
After the coronavirus pandemic caused industry wide shutdowns and disrupted the release slates of major studios, fans will be pleased to know that The Mandalorian was largely unaffected. Filming finished just before the pandemic-induced shutdown, with postproduction work completed remotely.
Season 2 of The Mandalorian will premiere October 30th on Disney Plus. The streamer announced the new release date with a play on one of season 1’s most famous quotes: ‘this is the day’.
The only way to watch season 2 of The Mandalorian will be with a Disney Plus subscription. Along with the Star Wars saga, you’ll also be able to stream the Marvel Cinematic Universe, classic films and recent releases.
Disney Plus is also the only place to watch Mulan, which premieres this September 4th.
