Disney Plus and Facebook are reducing their streaming quality alongside Netflix, YouTube, Amazon and Apple.

The measure comes in response to the coronavirus crisis, as a way to reduce pressure on the internet in Europe.

Disney is also postponing the release of Disney Plus in France as a response to government requests, according to Reuters.

Initially planned to launch on March 24th, the service will now be released in France during the week of April 7 – two weeks later.

Kevin Mayer, head of Disney’s direct-to-consumer division, has said that Disney will ‘lower our overall bandwidth utilisation by at least 25 percent in all of the markets launching Disney Plus on March 24th.’
