Watch top HBO titles with HBO Now.

HBO Max is live in the US as of May 27, which means fans can watch classic titles such as Friends and the Harry Potter franchise.

The main point of confusion for subscribers has been which devices are compatible with the service.

Currently, Amazon devices – including setups such as Amazon Fire TV – and Roku are not compatible with the streamer.

Roku does not yet have a version of the app due to ongoing negotiations, and Amazon has not yet finalised a deal with WarnerMedia either.

For those who are able to sign in using their TV, here is a step by step guide.

  1. Navigate to hbomax.com/tvsignin
  2. Go to log in on your TV or other device.
  3. Enter the six digit code which appears on your TV/other device into hbomax.com/tvsignin.
  4. Fill in the details for your new profile.
  5. Click on Create.
  6. Click on Account.
  7. Click on Add password.
  8. Use your new password to sign in on your TV or other device.
