The Artemis Fowl movie is getting added straight to Disney Plus without having a run in the theatres, as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

As lockdown measures across the world continue, Disney has already made changes to its schedule – such as pushing forward the release of Frozen 2 and Onward from Pixar.

Artemis Fowl was originally meant to open in theatres on May 29, and is based on the fantasy novels from author Eoin Colfer.

The story follows a boy genius called Artemis Fowl who comes from a long line of criminal masterminds.

He goes on a journey to find his father, who has disappeared under mysterious circumstances. When he embarks on his mission, he finds an ancient civilisation of fairies.

The movie stars Colin Farrell, Ferdia Shaw, Judi Dench, Josh Gad and Lara McDonnell. Meanwhile, Trolls: World Tour is being moved directly to digital rental on April 10, which is the day it was due to come out in cinemas.

To find more movies to stream, why not try Amazon Prime Video? With a 30 day free trial and over 14,000 films available, the platform is offering plenty of people with solid entertainment choices during the COVID-19 outbreak.
