Back in November, Discovery hinted at a secret new project coming up, and now we know what it is – discovery+ is launching in early 2021.
Not long after our New Year celebrations are over, the new streaming service will be landing on the internet. To be precise, it’s released on January 4, 2021.
There will be 55,000 episodes of television across 2,500 series, as well as original titles and content from HGTV, Food Network, TLC, Investigation Discovery, OWN, Animal Planet, Discovery, A&E, History and Lifetime.
A deal with A&E means that well-known shows which will feature include Dance Moms, Married at First Sight, 60 Days In and Ice Road Truckers.
In terms of pricing, the ad-free tier is $6.99 while the ad-supported tier is $4.99. Verizon customers will have the chance to view for free for up to 12 months.
The US version of the platform will be available to those in the contiguous US, American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.
