Amazon Prime Video original superhero TV show returns September 4th with season 2, and we’ve got all the details on the latest trailer here. Season 1 spoilers ahead!
The series follows an anti-superhero resistance (the titular Boys) as they go up against the Seven, a group of superheroes far more villainous than they publicly appear. Season 2 promises to be as gruesome, chaotic and funny as the first instalment.
Season 2 sees the introduction of new superhero Stormfront (Aya Cash), and the brand new trailer released yesterday (August 4th) shows off her terrifying, electrifying powers – as well as hints at her reasons for joining the Seven. We see her advocating for a super team to ‘fight back’ with – whether she’ll be revealed to be a white supremacist as in her comic book origin remains to be seen, though series creator Eric Kripke has said that ‘we’re going after white supremacy in season 2, we’re going after white nationalism in season 2, we’re going after systemic racism in season 2’.
We’ll also see Billy (Karl Urban) attempt to rescue his wife from Homelander (Antony Starr) after the revelation last season that she is actually still alive, while Starlight (Erin Moriarty) works with the Boys in their efforts against the Seven and Vought International.
The new trailer is available on YouTube. A third season of the show was recently announced at Comic-Con@Home.
Season 2 will premiere on Amazon Prime Video September 4th with three episodes before switching to a weekly schedule. There will also be an after-show titled Prime Rewind: Inside The Boys hosted by Aisha Tyler.
